Keep Chick-Fil-A off FJUHSD campuses

Dear Superintendent, please keep Chick-Fil-A off our campus, since Winshape Foundation, the "charitable arm" of Chick-Fil-A, has donated millions of dollars to anti-LGBTQ groups and Dan Cathy, Chick-Fil-A president, has made public statements that are offensive to our schools' LGBTQ students.

Why is this important?

Many FJUHSD students feel it would be hurtful to have the school administration and district board of trustees and superintendent supporting an organization whose president is so vehemently against LGBTQ students. While it may seem innocuous to merely have Chick-Fil-A on campus, giving the opportunity for the organization to make money on our campuses is still a form of support for an organization that has made comments that are offensive to many of our students. Please sign and keep our schools safe and inclusive for each and every student on campus.

Reasons for signing

  • I personally experienced discrimination and bullying by fellow students and the administration that sanctioned their behavior at Troy High School in the early '80s. I applaud the efforts of the students who organized this campaign to support safety and inclusion for all students! Thank you.
  • What are we teaching students when an intolerant business is invited into a school trying to teach tolerance?
  • Chic-fil-A and it's anti- LGBTQ thought and actions have NO place in a public school. An educational atmosphere must be free of such discriminatory businesses.
