Support Comprehensive Inclusive Sex Education Revisions in Parkway School District

This campaign has ended.

This past three years students in Parkway School District have been pushing for a more inclusive sex eduction curriculum, one that works to meet the national standards and doesn't rely on abstinence only when talking about sex. The students campaign was going great until this week non students wrote to the school board asking them to keep the practices the way they are. We need the school board to change the policies around sex education and make it inclusive. Make it include other things than abstinence and make it follow the national sex education standards.

Why is this important?

Because Students health, safety and even lives could be in danger without this type of education. Bad information leads to poor ability to make decisions and leaving students without tools needed to handle what happens when those decisions are made. We need all the information when it comes to sexual health, not just some of it.

How it will be delivered

Next Wednesday night, September 9th, the school board of Parkway District will meet and hear testimony from students and members of the district only. We plan to give this petition to them as a coalition of GSAs in the Parkway District and testify why we believe comprehensive Sex Ed is important and saves lives.
